SignalCheck is a comprehensive application that provides users with accurate information regarding their device connections. Unlike the common Android signal bars that only reveal 1xRTT signal strength, SignalCheck offers detailed insights into all connections, including 1xRTT CDMA, EV-DO/eHRPD, LTE (4G), HSPA, HSPA+, HSDPA, HSUPA, and various GSM/WCDMA technologies. Additionally, it presents information about the current Wi-Fi connection, such as signal strength, SSID, link speed, and IP address.
It is worth noting that support for 5G networks and dual-SIM devices is on the horizon.
The app acknowledges the immense support received from S4GRU since its inception. For further information about Sprint's Network Vision strategy and engaging discussions on devices and cellular networks, users may visit S4GRU's website.
SignalCheck stands out as one of the pioneering Android applications to provide LTE Cell ID information to users. This feature is available on most devices running Android 4.2 or above, as well as on select HTC devices with earlier Android versions. Moreover, some providers offer LTE band information, and frequencies are viewable on specific HTC devices.
Another notable feature of SignalCheck is its display of the current connection type and provider name for each connection, even during roaming.
Users have the option to upgrade to SignalCheck Pro (available here). The Pro version offers lifetime upgrades and several enhancements:
- Significantly faster access to program updates.
- The ability to view neighboring cells within your device's range but not currently connected to.
- The option to save a log of connected sites with notes for each site displayed within the app.
- Setting alerts based on connection status and LTE band.
- User-customizable icons displaying data connection information in the notification area at the top of the screen.
- Screen stay-on feature while SignalCheck is active.
- Displaying base station locations with easy access to advanced Android screens like Engineering debug/data screens and more.
- A widget for quick access to current connection type and real-time signals on any home screen.
The application developers encourage feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and compliments from users. SignalCheck has been referred to by various names such as Signal Check LTE, LTE Signal Check, LTE Checker among others, but its official name remains SignalCheck.
